Asa Hinton was our rescue boy from West Virginia. He came to us at 11 months old and from night-one in our home he became our fierce protector. Asa saved my life more than once, alerting me to danger and bringing me away from it. 10 days from turning 13.5 years old he developed a sudden tumor in his mouth. We couldn’t put him through prolonged surgeries and difficult recovery. Up until that moment of diagnosis you would’ve thought he was still a puppy, walking miles a day, flipping in the air for treats, and chasing the backyard bunnies and ducks. Even our vet was stunned. We let him go on December 5, 2025. My soul dog and my husband’s walking partner, gone in seconds. Our lives will never be the same without our 75 lb rescue hound/lab that was everything we could ever hope for as a dog and a family member.
