Tia Rose

I adopted Tia Rose in August of 2023. She had recently had a litter of puppies and was rescued from the property by an emergency animal medical technician with AZ Humane and taken to receive needed medical attention. Gracie and I were looking to find a new family member after losing my fur babies Tinker Bell, 13/2019 Bailey,14 /2021 and Romeo,10/2023 all to different cancers. Even though I was looking at males Tia Rose woo wooed and demanded my attention. We spent time together then she met her sister and then joined our family. It was a perfect fit. I immediately started working on getting her healthy and as she felt better even more of her amazing funny silly loving personality came out. She loves to wooo and she loves to talk with her buttons. She really enjoys going to dog school and even earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate. She’s a great hugger,gives big loving hugs and will lick your facel given the chance. She loves to go on adventures with us snd everyone is drawn to her bubbly healing energy. She loves visiting puppies and all her dog friends or making new ones. Now she has a wardrobe, accessories,cute shoes and loves dressing up and photo shoots,she really enjoys modeling. In 2024 she had a mammary gland removed in surgery but it was non cancerous. 1 year later in 2025 she suddenly had a few new mammary lumps and again she had surgery to remove some more questionable mammary glands. Preparing for surgery her liver levels were very high, so first an ultrasound and many tests later she had her surgery. The biopsy came back adenocarcinoma, grade 2. We weren’t ready for this devastating news but this time things went different. The surgeon removed all of the tumor with wide margins along with a few other mammary glands. We were referred to an oncologist for further testing post op. Also managing her liver and taking medication to get those numbers lowered. And then a few months later the good news came. She was cancer free,we did not have to have any additional surgery at this time. The plan was to monitor her every 3 months with the oncologist, exam, X rays,ultrasound and blood work and some special herbs for immunity and mammary cancers. Luckily she loves going to the vet and getting lots of attention. Now here we are a year later, her liver levels are back to normal and she’s doing great. Happy Healthy and Cancer Free. I am so lucky she picked me and that we have her in our life. We are blessed to have her and each other. She spreads joy everywhere she goes. Of course because of her breed APBT & AmStaff, she occasionally has to endure negative attention. But it doesn’t come close to the amount of positivity she spreads and receives from those lucky enough to know and meet her. I could go on and on with more stories about how special she is but I’ll end it here being thankful that this time Cancer didn’t end a beautiful story because she has many more chapters ahead of her now. We look forward to living them to the fullest with her!
